In 1976, it was established as an Upper Primary School, it was subsequently upgraded in to Higher Secondary School. It is commendable that the strength exceeds 3500. Majority of the students belongs to socially and financially backward sections of the community, especially Muslim minority. About 65% of students are girls from the minority community. It is a noteworthy that there is 90 to 95 percent turn out in public exam results. Ours is one of the best Higher Secondary Schools in the district with regard to HSC results. The achievement in Sports and games and Science fair competitions at inter-School and inter-district levels, is commendable.
